Not to be confused with flower jade, or the creamy rind of jade that can sometimes be used, this yellow jade or "Mutton Fat" as it can be named is a very rare form of pounamu!
The colours of Mutton Fat are that of creamy whites and yellows and this stone has been found in the Waimea District and Wainihinihi Creek, in Hokitika.
