The Twist represents friendship, love and loyalty
Resembling the intertwining fronds of New Zealand's pikopiko fern, the Twist connects the spirit of friendship, family and loved ones.A symbol of always being with one another regardless of where your journey takes you.
Luke Gardiner
The artist behind this creationRaised on the wild and rugged West Coast of New Zealand, Luke still calls Hokitika home. A self-taught artist, he finds his inspiration in nature and has been recreating its beauty in greenstone for over a decade. Luke carefully assesses each piece of jade before deciding which design will best suit. Flawlessness, colour, inner light and visual impact are all important, but his gift for retaining the ‘essence’ and ‘feeling which the raw jade holds, takes his work to a different plane.
Symbolising the bond between two people, connecting the lives of friends, family or loved ones.
The Twist
The Twist is thought to represent two people's life path. Like the continuous shape of the pikorua, life for both individuals will continue despite many unexpected twists and turns, inevitably bringing them together again one day.
