The Rotorua-based carver regards pounamu with reverence and respect born of his Māori heritage, with traditional forms and symbolism deeply influencing his designs. Tamaora has ties to Ngāti Rangiwewehi, Ngāti Whakaue and Ngāti Rangitihi.
