This year we are supporting the Tarawera Ultramarathon, as a family-business from Rotorua it's great to get behind an event born in Rotorua and which, like us, showcases something so iconically New Zealand on a global stage. Supporting local is a focus for us, as the New Zealand community is so supportive, especially when it comes to their land and culture. This annual event goes through some iconic New Zealand landscape, which seemed like the perfect way to tie this partnership back to the land.
For this event, we're providing all the participants of the 100-mile race with a piece of greenstone, hand carved into a toki, which signifies courage and strength. We felt that this was the perfect symbol to gift to those who are competing in an ultimate test of endurance.
The carver responsible for these pieces is a young New Zealand carver, based out of Cambridge. He has hand carved each of these toki pieces, so each is unique and crafted from New Zealand pounamu.
