Tamaora has strong cultural ties to Pounamu.  His  passion and respect for jade has led him to make a career out of jade carving.He is able to communicate his culture through works of art. His inspiration lies in his heritage, people and culture. He attempts to instill the Mauri of his tipuna in every piece he carves.

Tamaora has been carving under the expertise of carver Lewis Tamihana Gardiner and now is gaining reputation on his own merit.

 His creations are unique, personal and of the highest quality.
