Rotorua Sustainable Tourism Charter Members

Always careful to make full use of every scrap of their costly raw material, Jade, minimising wastage has long been important to Mountain Jade. Since becoming members of Rotorua Sustainable Tourism Charter in May 2008, the company has been committed to making incremental steps on the path to sustainability.

Measures that have been implemented to date include turning off lighting and air conditioning when not required, refraining from excess paper wastage, changing to eco-friendly cleaning products, drastically cutting waste going to the landfill (garbage dump) and talking to their suppliers about minimising or recycling packaging.

They are also investigating energy-efficient shop lighting and using recycled paper and environmentally friendly inks for brochures, flyers and business cards.
